New Year Starter Kit

Hi Everyone,
For those of you who are going back to college for the spring semester, this post is for you! If you are just starting in makeup, want to make a change, or want to buy new makeup then pay attention. All of these products are from the drugstore (of course!) and are inexpensive. This is kind of my version of a makeup starter kit so I hope you all find this helpful :)

Primer: A primer is a good thing to have because it keeps your makeup in place and lasting all day and also prevents any makeup from sinking in and showing your pores. My favorite primer is the Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel (sounds sketchy but believe me, it's great!)

Foundation: The foundation I like is the Covergirl AquaSmoothers foundation because it's a light coverage foundation that is easy to blend and can be built up to medium coverage. You can use a brush, a sponge, or even your fingers

Concealer: The NYX HD Concealer is great for covering acne scars and even undereyes (I have TERRIBLE blue undereye bags and this works really well). It has a wand applicator which makes it easy to pinpoint right where you want it. You can find NYX products at Ulta.

Bronzer: The NYC Bronzer in Sunny (Sunny is the only color it comes in unfortunately) is great if you want to warm your whole face or simply contour with. I don't recommend this for darker skin tones, however, because it is more tan than brown.

Blush: I'm sure you all have heard all the wonderful things about Wet n Wild ColorIcon Blushes and they are all true. They are very pigmented and are easy to apply

Highlighter: Highlights are often overlooked but they are essential for giving your face dimension and a nice glow. I like the E.L.F Shimmering Facial Whips because they give nice shimmer without containing any glitter, they come in different colors, and they are only $1!!!!!

Eyelid Primer: You must use an eyelid primer to keep your eyeshadow in place all day. I use the E.L.F Eyelid Primer; for a dollar this is a great, inexpensive product. Another alternative would be the primer from NYX.

Eyeshadow: Wet n Wild has incredible eye shadows in all kinds of colors, finishes (matte, glitter, etc), and palettes. This one I have is in GREED which contains six colors (three mattes and three shimmers).  I would recommend any of the Wet n Wild eye shadows

Eyeliner: I find that liquid eyeliner is the best kind of liner for my upper lash line. The one I use is the Wet n Wild Megaliner. It comes in different colors, is really pigmented, and has a nice thin brush that is easy to apply...even a cat eye

Mascara: Everyone wants long voluminous lashes and I would recommend the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black which really lengthens the lashes and doesn't clump.

Finishing Powder: A translucent powder is great to keep your face makeup in place and give a nice glow/finish to your skin. My favorite is the E.L.F HD Powder' it doesn't make your face cakey or ashy-looking but soft and glowey.

Lipstick: And finally....the finishing touch! In my opinion, lipstick really completes a look. I like most drugstore lipsticks (I just happen to have Revlon's SuperLustrous Lipstick in Primrose and Wet n Wild's MegaLast lipstick in Mauve Outta Here in this picture). I would recommend any lipstick from Revlon, Maybelline, Wet n Wild, and NYX (especially).

Have a good semester and new year everyone! BYE!
