BH Cosmetics 10 Color Blush Palette

Who knew there were so many different color blushes out there? Not me until about a year ago!!

I started buying single blushes, which started to hurt my wallet a little bit, until I heard about the 10 Color Professional Blush Palette from BH Cosmetics. This palette contains, you guessed it, 10 blushes. These powder blushes are really soft,  pigmented, and last A LOT longer than other powder blushes. You can find this at bhcosmetics.com and usually it's on sale (I have yet to see it at full price). I suggest this palette for people who, like me, don't like buying single blushes and want a powder blush that lasts all day without needing a cream blush underneath.

The top picture is without flash and the bottom one is with a flash

Top (left to right): darker brown (nice contour), light peach, lavender, coral pink, light shimmery tan

Bottom (left to right): rosy pink, dusty rose, orange (little darker than NYX's Cinnamon blush), really hot pink, tan (little lighter than the dark brown)

I encourage you all to consider getting this palette, you won't regret it!

ENJOY!!!!!

New Year Starter Kit

Hi Everyone,
For those of you who are going back to college for the spring semester, this post is for you! If you are just starting in makeup, want to make a change, or want to buy new makeup then pay attention. All of these products are from the drugstore (of course!) and are inexpensive. This is kind of my version of a makeup starter kit so I hope you all find this helpful :)

Primer: A primer is a good thing to have because it keeps your makeup in place and lasting all day and also prevents any makeup from sinking in and showing your pores. My favorite primer is the Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel (sounds sketchy but believe me, it's great!)

Foundation: The foundation I like is the Covergirl AquaSmoothers foundation because it's a light coverage foundation that is easy to blend and can be built up to medium coverage. You can use a brush, a sponge, or even your fingers

Concealer: The NYX HD Concealer is great for covering acne scars and even undereyes (I have TERRIBLE blue undereye bags and this works really well). It has a wand applicator which makes it easy to pinpoint right where you want it. You can find NYX products at Ulta.

Bronzer: The NYC Bronzer in Sunny (Sunny is the only color it comes in unfortunately) is great if you want to warm your whole face or simply contour with. I don't recommend this for darker skin tones, however, because it is more tan than brown.

Blush: I'm sure you all have heard all the wonderful things about Wet n Wild ColorIcon Blushes and they are all true. They are very pigmented and are easy to apply

Highlighter: Highlights are often overlooked but they are essential for giving your face dimension and a nice glow. I like the E.L.F Shimmering Facial Whips because they give nice shimmer without containing any glitter, they come in different colors, and they are only $1!!!!!

Eyelid Primer: You must use an eyelid primer to keep your eyeshadow in place all day. I use the E.L.F Eyelid Primer; for a dollar this is a great, inexpensive product. Another alternative would be the primer from NYX.

Eyeshadow: Wet n Wild has incredible eye shadows in all kinds of colors, finishes (matte, glitter, etc), and palettes. This one I have is in GREED which contains six colors (three mattes and three shimmers).  I would recommend any of the Wet n Wild eye shadows

Eyeliner: I find that liquid eyeliner is the best kind of liner for my upper lash line. The one I use is the Wet n Wild Megaliner. It comes in different colors, is really pigmented, and has a nice thin brush that is easy to apply...even a cat eye

Mascara: Everyone wants long voluminous lashes and I would recommend the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black which really lengthens the lashes and doesn't clump.

Finishing Powder: A translucent powder is great to keep your face makeup in place and give a nice glow/finish to your skin. My favorite is the E.L.F HD Powder' it doesn't make your face cakey or ashy-looking but soft and glowey.

Lipstick: And finally....the finishing touch! In my opinion, lipstick really completes a look. I like most drugstore lipsticks (I just happen to have Revlon's SuperLustrous Lipstick in Primrose and Wet n Wild's MegaLast lipstick in Mauve Outta Here in this picture). I would recommend any lipstick from Revlon, Maybelline, Wet n Wild, and NYX (especially).

Have a good semester and new year everyone! BYE!

NYX Round Case Lipstick Swatches

NYX Round Case Lipsticks are very inexpensive lipsticks that you can find at Ulta or online (I got mine from Beautyjoint.com). They come in over 160 colors and different finishes; everything from cremes to frosts. These are my FAVORITE lipsticks because they are so pigmented and so creamy. They sit on top of my lips instead of falling into the fine lines. I have nine of them which I will describe below:

Left Side Top to Bottom: B52, Pumpkin Pie, Circe, Raisin, Very Berry
Right Side Top to Bottom: Pink Lyric, Paris, Blush, Thalia

B52: Creme finish, brownish pink color

Pumpkin Pie: Creme finish, nude color (more on the orange side)

Circe: Creme finish, pure nude color

Raisin: Creme finish, burnt red (has brown undertones)

Very Berry: Creme finish, dark purplish red color

Pink Lyric: Creme finish, bright pink with blue undertones

Paris: Creme finish, kind of a bright pink with warmer undertones, very wearable

Blush: Creme finish, bright pink with warm coral undertones

Thalia: Creme finish, also very wearable, dark primrose kind of pink

Hope you look into the NYX round case lipsticks, especially these colors because they are gorgeous! Have a good day all!

Drugstore Highlights

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

It's the best of time of the year....but not for your skin. In the winter months, our skin tends to get dull. To get that healthy glow back, highlights are a good thing to have in your collection. Here are some drugstore highlights (powder and liquid options) that you may want to try out.

Some may prefer to use a liquid highlight because they tend to last on the skin longer than powders but may be a little more difficult to apply (don't blend out as easily).

These are three examples:

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer: (upper left) I use this underneath my eyes to brighten up that area but you can use it on your cheeks, nose, cupid's bow, etc. It has a brush applicator.

E.L.F Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter: (middle right) The concealer isn't great but the white highlight on the other side is nice. It's not shimmery so it will add a nice glow without putting sparkle on your face. This is nice if you want more of a subtle highlight.

E.L.F Shimmer Facial Whip: (bottom left) This is my favorite! I have it in "Lilac Petal" which is a gorgeous pale pink color. E.L.F has other other colors as well. A little goes a long way and it gives a nice shimmer without containing glitter. This is comparable to high-end highlights like Benefit's High Beam (in my opinion of course)

Others may choose to go with a powder highlight which is usually easier to apply sometimes contain shimmer or glitter (if you like glitter).

Metallic Eyeshadows: Believe it or not, you can use metallic eyeshadows not only on your brow bone but also on your face. Metallics are shimmery instead of glittery so they give a nice glow to the skin. You can use any color you want like white (upper right), pale tan (upper left), or copper (bottom left). These aren't drugstore eyeshadows necessarily (they're in the Victoria's Secret "Sexy New Year's Eye Kit") but most of the drugstore brands have metallic eyeshadows that you can use. Consider using eyeshadows if you don't want to purchase a separate highlighter.

Milan Baked Bronzer: Baked bronzers and blushes from brands like Milani and Hard Candy are great highlights because they have a very pretty shimmer to them. This particular bronzer is in "Glow" which is a pale copper color; this isn't my favorite because it has bits of glitter in it so Hard Candy's baked products are probably a better option. Use a small powder or blush brush to apply

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in "Reserve Your Cabana": This is my favorite powder highlight. It's a pale tan color and has a nice shimmer to it. It contains a lot of product, is inexpensive, and even contains SPF. Use a small brush or fan brush to apply.

I hope you find this helpful and give some of these a try this season. Happy Holidays Everyone!

DIY Lip Scrub

No More buying lip scrubs from Lush!
No More using lip treatments from Sephora!
Make your own lip scrub! It's Easy

I have trouble with chapped lips all year around but in the winter, forget about it...it's gross. I heard somewhere that scrubbing with a toothbrush will help but NOPE! It actually made it worse; the skin on my lips was actually peeling!

But after using this homemade lip scrub, my lips seriously feel so smooth and my lipstick looks so much better!

You will need:

Coconut Oil
Honey
Brown Sugar

This is all you need to do. Take about a tablespoon of solid coconut oil and add it to about 2 teaspoons of honey. Add 2 teaspoons or more of brown sugar (depending on how harsh you want/need the scrub to be). That's it! You can use this as a body scrub as well. Enjoy!

BBW Winter Mini Candle Haul

Hi everybody,
On Cyber Monday I ordered a couple of Bath and Body Works Mini Candles in some of the winter scents they have now. I got the mini ones for two reasons: one, they were 2 for $5 and two, i haven't smelled any of these and I wanted to try them out. These are the six I got:
Left to Right: Frosted Gingerbread, Cranberry Pear Bellini, Spiced Apple Toddy, Holiday, Twisted Peppermint, Peppermint Mocha

Frosted Gingerbread = smells like sugar, ginger, and vanilla

Cranberry Pear Bellini = smells like cranberry, maybe a little cherry, and pear

Spiced Apple Toddy = smells like apple and cinnamon, like apple cider

Holiday = probably my least favorite, smells like cinnamon and other really strong spices

Twisted Peppermint = smells just like it says, peppermint :) and a little bit of vanilla

Peppermint Mocha = I love this one! Smells like peppermint and chocolate...can you even?

I wanted to share this with you all to let you know that their winter scents are out and what some of them smell like. Enjoy!!!!
